The Review

The Jade Boutique Hotel sits in one of Hanoi’s best neighborhoods for walkability — a short stroll from Hanoi Cathedral and Hoan Kiem Lake — at a price point that’s hard to argue with. We stayed in May 2026 at around $40 a night on Agoda, breakfast included.

The room is compact. There’s no getting around that. But whoever designed the layout made a genuine effort to pack in functionality — hot water maker, tea and coffee setup, slippers, safe, mini iron and ironing board, robes, minibar, microwave, hot plate, and a small sink area. Whether that feels thoughtfully equipped or a touch cluttered will depend on the traveler, but everything you’d realistically need for a short stay is accounted for. The bathroom is small, in keeping with the room, but functional.

Breakfast was a genuine surprise for the price. The dining room is intimate — it doesn’t seat a crowd — but the setup follows the standard Hanoi boutique hotel format done well: a small buffet with fruit and hot items alongside made-to-order options including eggs and beef pho. The balcony off the breakfast area is a nice touch — particularly on a clear morning.

Staff were friendly throughout. For a first stop in Hanoi, this hotel delivers on the two things that matter most at this price point: location and value.
