The Review

The Chi Boutique Hotel sits close to Hanoi Cathedral in the historic Old Quarter — a central position that puts the best of walkable Hanoi within easy reach. The room feels a touch more generous than the tightest boutiques in this series, landing closer to medium-sized by the standards of this category.

The room is well set up — luggage area and desk off to the right on entry, complimentary water, tea and coffee with a hot water maker, stocked minibar, and a closet with quality hangers, extra pillows and comforter, two robes, slippers (brown — a first in this series), a scale, a drawer, and a safe. The attention to closet amenities is notable for this price point.

The bathroom is on the smaller side but makes good use of what it has — decent counter space at the sink, a hairdryer stored underneath, a bum gun at the toilet, and a separate enclosed shower area with a closed door. The separation between shower and toilet is a consistent positive worth calling out at this price point.

Breakfast follows the standard Hanoi boutique format: a buffet line with hot food alongside à la carte beef pho and made-to-order eggs delivered to the table. Nothing unexpected, and nothing to complain about.

The hotel has a rooftop bar which appeared to be under renovation during the visit — signage at the time was unclear about the status. Worth checking directly with the hotel at time of booking if the rooftop is a deciding factor.
