The Holiday Inn Vancouver Airport Richmond is a practical mid-range option for travelers passing through YVR. It won’t win any design awards, but it delivers a comfortable, well-priced stay close to the terminals with a free airport shuttle available for when you need it.

The room is a decent size with good walkability — microwave, mini fridge, coffee machine, iron and board, safe, reading lights beside the bed, a small couch with side table, and a dedicated work area with a comfortable chair. The bathroom is a solid size with good counter space and a combined shower and tub. Ice machines are available on every floor, which is a small but appreciated detail that’s becoming less common.

The on-site restaurant handles breakfast, lunch, and dinner and doubles as the breakfast venue in the mornings. The breakfast spread covers the essentials well — scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, baked beans, French toast, breads, bagels, jellies, cereal, and fruit. The restaurant also offers a selection of local craft beers, which is worth knowing if that’s your thing after a long flight. A McDonald’s sits directly across the parking lot for quick and easy options at any hour.

The gym is on the smaller side with a few machines, free weights, and floor mats — functional without being impressive. The laundry room is very small with only one washer and one dryer, but it’s there if you need it. An ATM is located in the hallway near the restaurant — always good to know.

The free airport shuttle was available during the stay but wasn’t used as the itinerary called for staying in the area another day.
