Want to Explore Kuala Lumpur’s Best Park? KLCC Park Tour

KLCC Park sits right at the foot of the Petronas Twin Towers, a big green escape in the middle of Kuala Lumpur. This episode is a first-person walk through the whole park, from the shaded paths and wading pools in the afternoon to the fountain show on the lake after dark.

I’d watched people enjoy this park on YouTube for years, so I wanted to see it in person and get in a good walk. That’s really all there is to it: walking and enjoying being outside. I liked it enough that I went back that evening for the light show.

The paths wind past water features, open lawns and some enormous trees, including a few banyans with roots spreading across the grass. A red jogging track loops the park, and there’s a playground and shaded pavilions along the way.

What stood out most was how many people were out enjoying some time outside, right in the middle of the city.

As it gets dark, the lake in front of Suria KLCC lights up with a colorful fountain show against the city skyline. It’s the best part of the walk, and it’s free.

• Light and sound show, with music: 8:00, 9:00 and 10:00 PM daily
• Light-only show, no music: 7:30, 8:30 and 9:30 PM daily

There’s plenty of room along the lake to sit on the steps and watch.

My tip: pair it with Suria KLCC. Go shopping or have dinner in the mall, then step outside a few minutes before the show starts.
