The Review
If you’re passing through Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport and need a proper night’s sleep without compromising on quality, the Hyatt Regency Taoyuan does the job well. It’s a true airport hotel — not much around in the immediate area — but the MRT connection makes it far more flexible than most properties in this category. The main building is just a 1-minute walk from the MRT exit, with the airport terminals 4–6 minutes away by train and downtown Taipei reachable in roughly 35 minutes. The hotel also runs an airport shuttle that operates without any hassle.
The king room is a solid size with a king bed, small couch, built-in work area, mini fridge, tea and coffee setup, robe, slippers, safe, iron and board, and a flashlight in the closet — a practical touch you don’t always see. The bathroom uses a shower-in-tub setup, which is unusual but functional. Views from the room are decent for an airport property.
The gym is a genuine highlight — large, well-spaced, well-staffed, and with a pool table right next to it that guests can use on request. The pool is adjacent to the gym area, managed from the same desk, and well set up with towels. Both are worth using if your layover allows.
The club lounge offers evening service with hot items, desserts, and alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages. A early departure meant breakfast wasn’t possible to film or try here, but the fish and chips ordered from the kitchen were solid — a good indicator of the general food standard. The lobby coffee shop and bar round out the dining options on site.
Staff throughout were friendly and professional.
