The Review

This Mercure Chiang Mai review covers a property I liked enough to extend my stay for a second week — and never made it to the trendy Nimman area because there was no compelling reason to leave.

The hotel sits close to Chiang Mai Old Town with easy access to local attractions and restaurants. Chang Phuak Market is an 11 minute walk for anyone wanting to experience one of the city’s best night markets. The Top grocery store next door handles day to day essentials, and Ajiyoshi Yatai Ramen in the adjacent strip mall is worth knowing about for a quality Japanese option without going far.

The entrance features a circle drive which makes Grab pick-ups and drop-offs seamless — a small but practical detail for anyone moving around the city regularly.

The rooms are cozy and well designed with proper workspaces, seating areas and ample storage — the kind of layout that makes an extended stay comfortable rather than claustrophobic. The bathroom has a walk-in shower and complimentary toiletries.

Breakfast is a proper buffet with made-to-order eggs, noodles and fresh fruit — one of the more complete breakfast spreads in the catalogue. The outdoor pool has plenty of shaded seating which is essential in Chiang Mai’s heat.

The staff are friendly throughout and the overall balance of value and quality is hard to argue with at this price point.
