A reliable Silom base that makes longer stays genuinely enjoyable
This Holiday Inn Bangkok Silom review covers a property I ended up staying at for 16 days on my first visit — which tells you more about it than any description could.
The Silom area gives you a solid Bangkok base. Lumphini Park is a 30 minute walk for anyone wanting green space in the city, and plenty of stores and restaurants are within easy walking distance for day to day needs. La Lupita Bangkok downstairs is worth knowing about — a Mexican restaurant that does a solid margarita at the end of the day, which after 16 days became something of a ritual.
The room is a comfortable size and well suited to longer stays. The breakfast is very good — a meaningful thing when you are eating it every morning for over two weeks. The lobby bar and restaurant cover the evenings without needing to venture far, and the lounge is a welcome retreat after a day out in the city.
The amenities are above average for the area. The pool has a bar attached which is always a good sign, and the tennis court sets this property apart from most Bangkok hotels at this price point. The gym covers the essentials and the staff are friendly throughout — important when a hotel becomes your home for an extended period.
A reliable Silom base that rewards longer stays.
